ONE BECOMES MANY.
SHORT STORIES AND SOCIAL VIEW POINTS
For Choo Choo: What is a Man? Clinically, a man is an adult human. Before reaching adulthood, a male human is considered a boy. Like most male mammals, a man's genome typically inherits an X chromosome from the mother and a Y chromosome from the father. Man represents humans as a race: "Humanity." Man is a husband: "I now pronounce you man and wife." Man is a lover: "He was her man." Man is a father, son, brother, cousin, friend, and neighbor. However, these descriptions only scratch the surface of what "Man" truly means. To truly understand man is to know one's self. You are a "Man."
Let's explore further. As a man, you are the embodiment of life. Your creative seed is the potential catalyst of life, the spark that ignites new generations. Embrace this masculine function and hold it in your heart. You are the pinnacle of creation, the ultimate creator of life itself! A great hand in this game has been; dealt to you by being born a man. You need not worry as a man, for you are born to lead this world. Man is the builder of all things of this world. Man is the world's support system. When things go awry, the world turns to men like you to put things back in order.
To be a fully functioning man, let your instincts be your compass; turn off/block out all useless thoughts; you must stay rooted in your physical. Harness your physical power; respect this power, and use it for the benefit of all. A man must be master of his mind, for his thoughts can either empower or hinder him. A man's mind is the most treacherous force to control. A man's negative and self-defeating thoughts can limit or paralyze him, so control over one's thinking is critical to becoming a fully functional man.A man has to master his heart, not in a romantic sense, but in the sense of having the courage to act on love and hate, right and wrong. Being the master of your heart is having the ability to love; when someone or something is deserving of love, hating someone or something worthy of hate. Yes, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Balance is the key to mastering your heart. This world tries to program men to "not love/show warm emotions" or "not to hate," which goes against a man's instincts to build and destroy. Build for who and what he loves and eliminate whoever and whatever puts in danger, "what he loves;" using his hate.
A man has to have a purpose. A man's purpose is the reason for all of his thoughts and actions. It does not matter; if it's a grand vision or a simple project. Without purpose, you will be like a leaf blown in the wind leaving your destiny to chance. (Excuse my French but "FUCK THAT.") A man must be able to function independently of others, yet still be connected to the world around him. A man's world is his world, outside forces and other people do not determine his existence.
Control your emotions, for an emotional man is a compromised man. If a man lingers in his feelings for too long, he loses his focus and predatory edge. He begins to think too much; thinking leads to doubt, and doubt leads to inaction. A man should be stoic when necessary, but always ready to act when the time comes. A man is assessing, reacting, then sitting down, back to being idle. When a man can control his emotions, he is more likely to make rational, well-thought-out decisions; instead of impulsively acting on feelings.
A man must be able to strike, fight, and kill, not only against other men who wish to do him harm, but against all obstacles; this world throws at him. It could be in business, "the kill" as in closing a deal, or bedding a beautiful woman who seems unattainable to others.
A man must be decisive. Being able to make quick, confident decisions is an important quality. Trusting his own judgment. A man is sure in his ability to handle challenges as they arise. (Most failures come from indecisiveness, not acting, not going for the kill, and missing the opportunity.)
A man is flawed; he has experienced failure and pain. He's climbed out of the deepest, darkest pit of despair, fear, sorrow, and anger; only to be greeted by his own shadow; reinforcing he is all alone; and help is not coming, he can only depend on himself. He is aware of the cause of his loss; it was his neglect, naivety, miscalculation, unpreparedness, and ego.
He learns from his mistakes and takes responsibility for his actions. A man is not perfect; he is breakable, unlike the image of the chiseled-jawed god-like, jet-setting, high earning, popular, metro fashionable image the machine wants us all to aspire to and even slave to become. A man is just ………. a man, he is uniquely and perfectly himself, and that is enough. (It's more than enough.)
A man keeps his word, it's an unwritten understanding between men globally. A man's words are the expression of his thoughts and feelings. Keeping your word demonstrates respect for yourself and others. Stating truths and backing up your words builds trust and credibility with others. Keeping your word is essential to building positive relationships reinforcing the importance of personal integrity and character.
A man is a man when he recognizes himself as a man and not a second before that. When his thoughts are that of a man, his heart is that of a man, and his actions are those of a man. Then he will know the answer to the question "What is a man?" ………… I AM!
A man is his body, his thoughts, his feelings, and his actions. A man is his words, and a man's word is final.
